Indonesia has the largest tropical rain forest on Earth. Therefore, Indonesia has long been known as the ‘lungs’ of the world. Forests has an important role in maintaining climate balance. But for indigenous peoples in Tanah Papua and the Maluku Islands, forests are not only as ‘lungs’. For them, the forest is like a biological mother who gives birth, feed and care. It also provide food, water, woods, and medicine. However, the land is under threat from palm oil companies in Tanah Papua and the Maluku Islands, including the West Papua Province. Listen to the story of one of the indigenous leaders from Moi Kelim tribe, an indigenous peoples tribe from West Papua Province.
